Topics for 2005 CIC group agenda

A. Identifying common issues/targets. Ask each council in advance to be ready to discuss:

1) What are the two most significant things your council has achieved for the staff you represent in the last five years?
a. How did you achieve them?
b. How can other councils replicate your achievements?

2) What are the two benefits, rights or goals you would most like to achieve for your constituents but have not been able to achieve? How can the CIC APSC act to help you achieve these goals?

3) What benefits do a majority of CIC APSC staff enjoy that we can try to help councils achieve at the remaining institutions?
a. Discuss progress and setbacks with our first three target areas.
1. domestic partner benefits
2. employee tuition waivers or discounts
3. vacation carry-over
4. Some discussion of role of state governments in preventing some benefits. What are state/university/council relationships?

b. Choose additional targets for this year.

ADDITIONAL POSSIBLE ITEMS:

B. Update of benefits survey (perhaps agreement to do via web, except for newsworthy changes)

C. Strategic planning at universities: insuring that our individual and collective staff "voice" continues to be heard.
